KONYAALTI BEACH ARCHITECTURAL AND COASTAL DESIGN
Accessible - Pedestrian
The vehicular traffic along Konyaaltı coast makes it very difficult for pedestrians to access the area. As a fundamental approach, it is proposed that the area should be reorganized as a pedestrian area, vehicular traffic should be narrowed and used for service purposes only, and public transport should be developed.
Permeable - Connector
In the existing situation, the relationship between the coast and urban fabric is very weak although there exist potentials for different open areas. It is proposed that these potentials can be utilized to develop a permeable and connecting tissue between the city and coast.
Multi Focal - Public
There exist potential focal points along the coast which may involve different uses within the urban fabric. It is proposed that by giving new programs to these potential areas, it is possible to develop a programmatic continuity through the coast.
